Nothing's more important to a publisher than a love for storytelling, and here at Canongate we try our very hardest to encourage this sort of community activity. Our Site of the Week this week is Lit Drift, whose aim is to discover and appreciate new and old forms of storytelling.

We've added Lit Drift's RSS feed to our news reader, and here is why you should as well:

  • They feature a new story every day, culled from all over the Internet and provide a perfectly-sized distraction from daily life.
  • Beginner writers, those suffering writer's block and those with wild imaginations will enjoy the Daily Prompt, which provides a nugget of inspiration (and a suggested time limit) to create something and tell a story.

They also offer a free book every Friday. What's not to like about that?

If you've got a website or podcast you'd like to submit for Site of the Week consideration, send us an email (make sure the recipient is Website enquiries).
