This December I'm looking forward to Spike Jonze's adaptation of Maurice Sendak's beloved book Where the Wild Things Are. Whimsical, magical and worth checking out for the soundtrack alone. RJI

I'm looking forward to Edinburgh's Torchlight Procession on 29 December. Thousands of people gather on the Royal Mile holding flaming torches aloft as they make their way up to Calton Hill for a spectacular bonfire and fireworks display. We take flasks of mulled wine to keep us warm! Catriona
I've just got tickets to the Dunedin Consort & Player's recital of Handel's Messiah on 23rd December to put me in the mood for Christmas. I'm also really looking forward to seeing the Guy Ritchie interpretation of the Sherlock Holmes legend that opens on the 26th. On the 31st I'm avoiding Princes Street Gardens (even though Madness is playing) and the Hoog @ the Assembly Rooms - I'm going to the Motherfunk Hogmanay club at the Voodoo Rooms instead. Spex
