This has been a week for literary prizes being awarded - Hilary Mantel's won the Booker for Wolf Hall, Don Paterson's lifted the Forward poetry award for his collection Rain, and we are now waiting with bated breath to see who's been named the Nobel laureate for literature in 2009.
Amos Oz is the bookie's favourite to win the Nobel Prize in Literature this year. Given that the most prominent judge has stated that he thinks the prize is too Euro-centric, he may have a very good chance.
