Here on Meet At The Gate we tend to focus on American or British sites in our Site of the Week feature, because that's where the bulk of literary sites are based. Cha is based in Hong Kong, and that's enough to pique our interest.

Published online on a quarterly basis (the next issue is due in August) and featuring guest editors in every issue, Cha is an online literary magazine. They select what they feel is the best of fiction, non-fiction, reviews, poetry and art about Asia or by Asians submitted in the last three months. Their favourite piece of art or photography is also awarded the privilege of being the 'cover' (header image) for that issue.

Although they tell stories about places thousands of miles away, Cha help to bring far-flung and exotic (by Western standards) locales much closer and give us a glimpse into the modern arts scene in Asia. We encourage you to delve into their archive and see what the Asian literary scene has to offer in the English language.

If you've got a website or podcast you'd like to submit for Site of the Week consideration, send us an email (make sure the recipient is Website enquiries).
