Last week we were in France with The Paris Review. This week we’ve hopped over the border to Spain with The Barcelona Review, an online literary journal edited by an American expatriate in Spain (hence the name) with contributions from Catalan, Spanish, French, American, English, and Scottish nationalities too. In each issue you'll find original short fiction, book reviews, quizzes and (from the Spring 09 issue onward), video.

This literary ‘zine publishes previously unpublished work from aspiring writers alongside other pieces of creative fiction and non-fiction by established authors so there’s plenty of variety and an amazing archive of writing from previous issues. All this in four languages too – The Barcelona Review truly embraces the multicultural.

What’s more, unlike it’s Parisian namesake, there’s no offline equivalent to this ‘zine - all the content on The Barcelona Review is exclusive to the internet. So make sure you bookmark and revisit often to fill your boots with the pick of Spanish writing.
