Literary agent Peter Cox is owner of the Litopia Writers' Colony, an independent community for writers. Don't for one moment think it's a 'community' like Facebook or MySpace - Litopia is about personal connections and proper community support (and is most definitely not a popularity contest).

But what we want to highlight in this Site of the Week Gatepost are the two regular podcasts from Litopia - the Daily and After Dark editions. If you're a writer and you want to find out how other published authors work, along with all the latest news and analysis that has relevance to the world of books and writing, you can't go wrong by subscribing to both podcasts. In fact, Litopia Daily recently featured Claire Harman, award-winning biographer and author of Jane's Fame: How Jane Austen Conquered the World, and they were also big fans of Chocolate and Cuckoo Clocks , our collection of the best of Alan Coren when it was published last autumn.

(And they even provide a live stream of the Litopia recordings , bloopers and all. We love that.)

If you've got a website or podcast you'd like to submit for Site of the Week consideration, send us an email (make sure the recipient is Website enquiries).

Civilised and supportive, the Litopia colony is a fantastic online meeting place for writers.

Litopia is a little bit like Eden for the contemporary writer.
