Clearly the companion website to a series of 'snobbish' books, The Annals of Snobbery is a blog (what else) that posts pithy yet rambling (only the best can accomplish that, I imagine) opinions on film, music, and food - all with tongue planted firmly in cheek.
They definitely save the best for the books, I fear: their ... explained pages are way funnier than the blog posts themselves.
My favourite section of the site is definitely Film Snobbery; oh, how I wish I was intellectual enough to watch an art house or otherwise independently-produced film and walk out comparing it favourably or unfavourably to Ingmar Bergman's The Seventh Seal - alas, I am more likely to shuffle out muttering, "I didn't get it."
Can you be an average snob? My tastes in books, music, and film don't run to the highly literary, experimental, or intellectual; neither am I a fan of Britney Spears, [insert the name of any chick-flick director here], or James Patterson. Am I determinedly, outstandingly, exclusively average?
Our survey says yes!
Are you a closet average snob who daren't expose your attraction to everything middle-of-the-road? Do you feel you need to show a deep understanding of the latest whatever that everyone else is pretending to understand? Fear not! You are not alone. Join me in the Revolution of the Averages. We shall take over the world and show our disdain for the fringes.
