Napier University has now launched a library for the famous Scottish writer Robert Louis Stevenson. Dr Linda Dryden is the expert of Stevenson in Scotland. One has to wonder why it has taken so long create a library dedicated to such a famous Scottish writer. The story of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde has been one of the most adapted stories of our time.
The library at Napier University, Craighouse Campus, holds the most comprehensive stock of Stevenson novels, poems and short stories. Its creation is one step forward to recognition Scottish authors from the past, present and the future.
The future of Scottish novels is based on the past. Without R.L. Stevenson there would be no J.K Rowling or Ian Rankin. Only past Scottish authors, such as R.L. Stevenson, can path the way for our future authors. So we must celebrate the authors of our past before we can celebrate the authors of our futures.
