The capacity of humans to imagine lives beyond what is presented to the public is responsible for many things: great literature, music, poetry, and celebrity gossip tabloids (that one we aren’t so proud of).

The proprietor of Seen Reading has decided to lay her imaginings bare. She spies people reading in public, makes a note of what they’re reading, finds a copy of the book and guesstimates what page they were reading, and then lets her creative juices flow. She envisions the (entirely anonymous) reader’s life, their hopes, dreams, loves, hates, daily minutiae... it feels like a voyeuristic peek into someone’s bedroom, but then we realise that it is all fiction.

Fake voyeurism is so much more fulfilling that celebrity gossip!
