I interviewed my friend Shauna, who is the author of popular lard-busting blog The Amazing Adventures of Dietgirl, which was published in book form in January 2008.
You're the author of a lard-busting blog and book. Has fame changed you?
I feel an intense pressure to maintain my weight loss so I don't get labeled a fraud.
How do you entertain yourself, living in Dunfermline?
I catch a train to Edinburgh!
No! Seriously. After three years I've grown to like it here. It's great being so close to the countryside - ten minutes in the car and I'm all set for a walk in the Ochils.
Have you any recommendations for things to do in Dunfermline?
A walk in Pittencrieff Park to watch the squirrels, then a walk up the high street to see even more local wildlife.
What's your local pub like?
I don't really have one, although I briefly frequented the City Hotel for Weight Watchers meetings. I have fond memories of the loos, desperately trying to pee out an ounce before I faced the scales.
What creative excuses do you come up with to avoid doing work?
I can fritter away many hours answering emails from readers wanting to know my lard busting secrets. Sometimes I do this while eating chocolate biscuits.
How long has it taken you to get round to finishing this interview?
Two weeks, I am a terrible slackarse.
